Description In the contemporary legal and corporate sphere, it is important for lawyers to function effectively in the international arena.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Chinese Law is a unique and innovative course. Students will travel to City University of Hong Kong and study aspects of Chinese law including Chinese constitutional law, commercial and contract law, and international intellectual property law.
The course consists of three weeks of intensive teaching at City University of Hong Kong in January and February, and will be followed by time for students to reflect on the course material and complete the major research assessments after their return from Hong Kong. Students will have the opportunity to form international friendships and gain a firsthand, tangible sense of China -- both its dynamic economic and legal development and its history and culture.
Employment Prospects Law, commerce and international business.
Admission Requirements: Onshore course offerings Recognised Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent training in any discipline (this need not be related to Law).

English competence.
Special Requirements This course is taught at City University of Hong Kong.

Students must possess a passport valid with eligibility for a visa to enter Hong Kong; Permanent Residents may also require a visa for re-entry into Australia.

Students are required to make their own travel arrangements. Students are covered by Murdoch University for travel insurance. Students are responsible for all other costs including airfares, accommodation, passport and visa fees, vaccinations, meals, taxis and personal expenses. City University of Hong Kong will assist in finding accommodation at competitive rates for students in this course.
