Description This unit provides an introduction to the quantitative and mathematical methods that are commonly used in economics and business units. The central topics will be the role of models in economics, calculus and its application to economics and business, constrained and unconstrained optimisation problems in business.
Contact time Lectures: 2 hours per week; workshops: 1 hour per week.
Prerequisites Nil.
Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.
Exclusions Students who have successfully completed C167 Quantitative Methods for Business and Economics may not enrol in this unit for credit.
Notes Recommended: Students with a weak mathematics background should complete M164/MAS164 Fundamentals of Mathematics before enrolling in this unit.
