Description This unit gives students a 'real-world' experience of project development in information technology by applying project management principles together with the skills developed in their IT majors. Teams take their project through all stages of the project development, culminating with a presentation of the project. Students gain practical experience in system planning, design and development, project coordination and team management, and communication with project clients and users. Students are expected to enrol in this unit in their final semester.
Contact time Lectures: 2 hours per week; tutorials: 1 hour per week.
Prerequisites B218/ICT218 Databases or ICT362 Network Security, and minimum 24 points at Part II-level, but preferably having completed 32 points at Part II-level.
Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.
Exclusions Students who have successfully completed M316/B316 Software Engineering Project or M328/B328 Information Systems Project may not enrol in this unit for credit.
