Description This unit is designed as a direct follow-up to MCC116 Introduction to the Screen. It continues that unit's emphasis on the textual nature of film (image and sound), but does so from a combined perspective of political context, film history, and detailed film analysis drawn from a range of theoretical models.
Contact time Lectures/screenings: 3 hours per week; tutorials: 1.5 hours per week.
Prerequisites MCC116 Introduction to Screen and Sound Studies (or MED116 Introduction to Screen and Sound Studies or MED116 Introduction to Screen Studies) OR EGL106 Introduction to Drama.
Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally.
Exclusions Students who have successfully completed MED232 Screen Texts may not enrol in this unit for credit.
Notes Graduate, Postgraduate and Honours students should enrol in the higher-level code for this unit except where the course structure states otherwise. Students enrolled at the Dubai campus should enrol in MCC2481.
