| Description | This unit is designed as a direct follow-up to MCC116 Introduction to the Screen. It continues that unit's emphasis on the textual nature of film (image and sound), but does so from a combined perspective of political context, film history, and detailed film analysis drawn from a range of theoretical models. |
| Contact time | Lectures/screenings: 3 hours per week; tutorials: 1.5 hours per week. |
| Prerequisites | MCC116 Introduction to Screen and Sound Studies (or MED116 Introduction to Screen and Sound Studies or MED116 Introduction to Screen Studies) OR EGL106 Introduction to Drama. Co-requisite: Internet access if studying externally. |
| Exclusions | Students who have successfully completed MED232 Screen Texts may not enrol in this unit for credit. |
| Notes | Graduate, Postgraduate and Honours students should enrol in the higher-level code for this unit except where the course structure states otherwise. Students enrolled at the Dubai campus should enrol in MCC2481. |
