| This unit provides an introduction to the theory and practice of animal production systems. Animal production will be explored through an introduction to soils and soil structure, plant and pasture science and a broad coverage of livestock farming systems. Practical classes will utilise the university farm to enhance the understanding of each topic studied, including practical skills in the safe handling of sheep, cattle, horses and pigs using low-stress handling methods where possible. |
| Lectures: 3 hours per week; practicals: 3 hours per week. |
| Enrolment in Veterinary Biology, Bachelor of Science - Veterinary Entry, or Animal Science. |
